Reimagining the Digital Wholesale Planning and Purchasing Experience
Values
Good design comes from good research, understanding user needs and what constitutes success for the company. This means close collaboration with customers, clarification of business goals and rigorous prioritization. As a relationship builder with an interdisciplinary academic background and natural curiosity, understanding the why is at the center of my work.
We all know the drill: Empathize > Define > Ideate > Prototype > Test. But I won’t pretend these steps get done thoroughly every time when resources are thin and timelines are short. Advocating for the importance of each step, and knowing when to skip or revisit one, is part of my role as a design leader, whether at a scrappy start up or a Fortune 500 company.
Iteration is where it’s at. Allowing for rounds of feedback, within the design team, product team, wider company and with end users, helps refine design and ensure we are on track. It’s also what builds a sense of ownership and shared vision which I see as a fundamental to building a solid product and a company culture where people thrive.
